Life of Mick De Reus

Experience Built on Performance

Mick De Reus brings over 20 years of experience at Dotmar, backed by earlier tenure with System Plast, which is now under the Regal Rexnord umbrella. Across his career, Mick has specialised in conveyor systems, representing System Plast products for most of his professional life while building a strong reputation for technical expertise and trusted customer support.

As a long‑standing Product Manager, Mick has supported a wide range of industries including food and beverage, packaging, wastewater, and timber. Over time, his focus has naturally aligned with Dotmar’s strongest markets food, beverage, and packaging, where performance, reliability, and standardisation are critical.

Mick’s strength lies in combining hands‑on onsite capability, strong supplier partnerships, and long‑term customer relationships to deliver practical, results‑driven solutions.

Supporting Customers Through Expertise

In his current role, Mick supports Dotmar branches across Australia and New Zealand, providing product and technical guidance across engineering plastics and conveying solutions. He works closely with internal teams and end users, delivering training, promoting key brands such as System Plast and Rexnord, and supporting Dotmar’s strategic focus on standardisation, sustainability, and dry‑run conveyor technology.

A core part of Mick’s work is conducting line audits, helping customers improve conveyor performance and line efficiency. These audits identify current issues, prioritise urgent maintenance needs, and enable planned upgrades. By recommending standardised Dotmar solutions, Mick helps customers reduce SKUs, streamline inventory, improve maintenance planning, and future‑proof their production lines, strengthening outcomes for customers while building long‑term partnerships.

Outside of Work

Outside of his professional life, Mick is first and foremost a family driven person. Married with three children and now grandchildren, family time is his highest priority.

He enjoys staying active through golf and mountain bike riding, balancing sport with family life and work commitments. Together with his wife, Mick enjoys travelling—both locally and throughout Australia—with Phillip Island being a favourite destination to relax, catch up with friends, and unwind.

International travel is another passion, often combining work and leisure. Mick comes from a Dutch family of ten siblings and is married to an Italian wife, giving him strong cultural ties to both the Netherlands and Italy. These global connections and experiences continue to shape his perspective, both personally and professionally.
