Polyethylene (PE) - Polystone
(Click on product name or image for further information.)
Polystone products are from the semi-crystalline polyethylene (PE) family. The properties of PE are closely related to the length of the molecular chain (molecular weight) and the crystallinity. The longer the chain, the higher the molecular weight, the better the desired characteristics of Polystone from HD (P300) to UHMWPE (P7000).

Advantages - Polystone is very light and extremely tough. It does not absorb water, it has good sliding abrasion resistance and is self lubricating.
Polyslide Systems
(Click on product name or image for further information.)
Polyslide Systems offer an extensive range of chain-track profiles, wear-strips and tensioners for use in power transmission, conveying and elevating in materials handling applications. Traditional steel guide profiles lead to heavy wear on chain link plates and rollers, requiring constant lubrication.

Advantages: Polystone Ultra profiles and guides offer unique sliding and low wear properties to help resolve these problems. Dotmar has technical staff to advise on standard profiles best suited to your application.

Acetal - Ertacetal
(Click on product name or image for further information.)
This is our general purpose copolymer acetal and is the only porosity-free acetal product available today. (photometric and dye penetrant tested) . It is the preferred Acetal for food contact and medical applications. Ertacetal is a semi-crystalline material with high strength, a low coefficient of friction and good wear properties especially in wet environments (resistance to hydrolysis).

Advantages: Ertacetal's great machinability together with its dimensional stability, mechanical strength, zero moisture absorption and good load-bearing properties make it ideal for close-tolerance parts.

Polyester PETP
(Click on product name or image for further information.)
Ertalyte is a proprietary product manufactured from proprietary resin grades. It is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester. Ertalyte ® is exclusive to Dotmar EPP in Australia is FDA compliant, it is stain resistant and its very low moisture absorption enables mechanical and electrical properties to remain virtually unaffected by moisture.

Advantages: Ertalyte’s properties make it especially suitable for the manufacture of precision mechanical parts capable of sustaining high loads in challenging wear conditions.

Nylons
(Click on product name or image for further information.)
These polyamides, commonly referred to as Nylons, are distinguished by different types. The most common engineering nylons are PA6 and PA66. Ertalon and Nylatron stock shapes are produced by either Extrusion or Casting. The process is in part a determinant of the character of the end product. Modifiers are added to enhance desirable characteristics.

Advantages: Nylon is a tough, durable, general purpose engineering material with special grades for specialty applications. Typical application conditions would be medium speed and temperature in a rugged, abrasive, impact and high load environment.

Advanced Engineering Plastic Products
(Click on product name or image for further information.)
This unique group of products offer properties which expand the limits of other engineering plastics. These products tend to retain mechanical and fatigue properties at elevated temperatures. AEPP’s are special materials – the value of ‘benefit in use’ needs to be properly assessed and understood in order to maximize cost / benefit.

Advantages: AEPP’s exhibit very high properties for thermoplastics in the areas of strength, stability, wear and temperature. They also offer improved chemical resistance and increased dielectric properties.

Polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE
(Click on product name or image for further information.)
It is resistant to practically every chemical known to man and has a surface as slippery as ice on ice to which no substance will adhere. Tetron will operate continuously at 260°C in harsh conditions for long periods. It will not degrade when exposed to long term sunlight.

Alloys and Fillers – As the need for more demanding uses emerge, Tetron PTFE can be customised by the addition of fillers to create PTFE compounds with enhanced physical properties to suit particular mechanical applications outside the scope of virgin PTFE.

Advantages: Virgin Tetron PTFE material
• Unaffected by almost all chemicals
• Continuous use at high temperatures
• Slippery non-stick surface
• Outstanding dielectric properties

Advantages: Tetron PTFE compounds
• Improved resistance to cold flow or creep
• Reduction in Wear and Friction
• Improved dimensional stability
• Increased stiffness and surface hardness

PTFE or Silicone is coated onto high quality fabric substrates to produce flexible composites. The resulting surface provides the benefits of PTFE or silicone enhanced by the dimensional stability of the woven fabric.

Advantages: Chemfab's non-stick surface and high temperature and chemical resistance make it an ideal flexible medium for food processing, screen printing and heat sealing applications.

Polypropylene PP
(Click on product name or image for further information.)
The non-polar structure of PP gives it a very high molecular mass. This makes it highly resistant to chemicals and to aqueous solutions of salts, acids and alkalis. PP homopolymers have a high level of stiffness and toughness at room temperature. This together with their capacity to repel water makes them a good choice for mechanical and structural applications.

Advantages: Polystone P is a hard, stiff, easily workable material with excellent toughness.
It is easily weldable. Ideal for tanks and fittings in the food and chemical
industries.

Polycarbonate PC
(Click on product name or image for further information.)
Safeguard is a premium quality ‘see through’ polycarbonate material typically used in the fabrication of guarding in Safety Applications. It is tough, easy to handle, easily fabricated and formed, and easy to machine into parts or panels. Safeguard is unique for its impact resistance and its shock-load resistance. It is literally sledgehammer proof.

Advantages: Safeguard is an excellent product for safety and security applications. It is light-weight and has 250 x the impact strength of glass.

Polyvinylchloride PVC
(Click on product name or image for further information.)
PVC was one of the first fully synthetic materials developed more than 60 years ago. PVC sheet and rod are made from rigid PVC which contains no plasticisers or fillers and conforms to DIN 16927. Reliable material properties play a key role in multi-faceted applications form machined parts to the construction of plant and machinery.

Advantages: High Rigidity and strength compared to other plastics. Formable, weldable, machinable.

Dotmar Conveyor Products
(Click on product name or image for further information.)

Applications: The range from DCP provides the full range of parts to assemble a conveyor system (apart from the steel support structure).

Malco Chain
(Click on product name or image for further information.)

These chains are generally steel and used in conveyor applications. They differ from flat top chains in that they do not have the flat, low friction top surface and are generally for heavy outdoor applications.

Many of these chains are available with attachments, which are special chain links added into the chain to allow attachments to be bolted to the chain.
DCP Okartek
(Click on product name or image for further information.)

The Okartek roller system fall into two categories:

  1. Multidirectional rollers: These are a roller with four smaller rollers around the perimeter. The function is to allow product to move on two axes, unlike a standard cylindrical roller. They are used in handling of any flat product.
  2. Okartek PVC Roller System: This system uses tap-in ends and bearing inserts with 3m lengths of PVC tube. This allows rollers to be made by cutting the tube to length and fitting the ends and bearings. The product is water tight and suitable for food processing environments
Pipe Fittings
(Click on product name or image for further information.)

Pipe fittings are used as a fix to damaged pipes. When there is a crack, split or leak in a pipe a pipe fitting can be used to stop a leak, until the pipe can be fixed permanently. This can eliminate danger product from leaking and causing harm.
