Advanced Engineering Plastics for the Medical Industry

The scope of engineering plastics is no longer just aimed at the engineer and industrial professional. Plastics have evolved into materials that are used in almost every facet of our lives. A new era in plastics development sees growth in specialist materials for use in life science applications.

Dotmar can offer an extensive range of medical grade thermoplastics that meet strict FDA and USP Class IV requirements. Designed specifically for the Medical, Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology sectors, these medical grade thermoplastics will replace existing solutions made of stainless steel, Titanium, glass or ceramics. Thermoplastics reduce weight and are commonly more resistant to sterilization methods, offer anti-static performance and resistance to high energy radiation.

Typical Applications:

  • Dental - Instruments, grips, drilling and suction equipment, isolating parts.
  • Surgical Instruments and Supplies - Targeting devices, endoscopic equipment, surgical grips.
  • Pharmaceutical Processing and Packaging - Slide and wear applications for dosing, filling, sealing, mixing and other production processes.
  • Analytical and Diagnostic Equipment - Trays, centrifuges, mass spectrometers, DNA probe analysers, radiation and ultrasound equipment, X-Ray and MRI devices.
  • Biotechnology and Laboratory Equipment - Bio reactors, nozzles, adapters, caps, optics and lenses.

The use of specialized, medical grade thermoplastics offers the following advantages:

Increased Security
Reduce Time to Market
Cost Reduction
Increased Production Speed

Going Green
Global, ecological awareness is ecospecifier's reason for being

ecospecifier is a guide to eco and health preferable products, materials and technologies for the built-environment construction sector and is specifically targeted to the needs of decision makers and specifiers. The system is an educational, one stop resource for thousands of dedicated professionals every day that subscribe and utilize the vast online knowledge and database of ecospecifier websites worldwide to research eco and health preferable building materials and study critical information on how to integrate this knowledge into sustainable developments and green rating systems.

ecospecifier aims to reduce negative human health impacts by providing greater clarity about what is and is not 'green' and facilitating a greater understanding of the issues surrounding ecoproducts, enabling easier identification, specification or location of eco and health preferred products.

New Generation Flat Top Chains and Modular Belts

The New Generation or "NG" chain has become a star performer in the beverage industry due to its lower wear rate, lower friction and lower noise levels. Extra performance, with the lowest coefficient of friction in the System Plast range, results in medium strength with optimum wear resistance, along with reduced plate wear and reduced pitch elongation.

NG chain is suitable for dry running applications and is available in flat top chain exclusively from System Plast. NG chain has high UV resistance and run with reduced noise.

The Advantages of running "dry":
Low or NO cost for lubricants
Less or NO water treatment and recycling expenses
NO messy or slippery floors - reduces OH & S risks
NO exposure to tough environmental regulations
Certain packaged items cannot be conveyed "wet"
